History of the PFFL

Welcome to Our 13th Season!

The 2005 season will mark the 13th anniversary of the PFFL.  The league was built on the love of professional football, and since 1993 it has provided many of us with a fun way to bust each other's nuts during the NFL season.  The ideals held are fair play and good competition.  The league was formed in the summer of 1993 after I had read an article on fantasy football in the back of a pro football magazine.  Once this article added the thought of owning and operating my own football franchise to my existing love for pro football, I decided to form the league.  As funny as it sounds, our inaugural season was only a three team league.  Along with myself, the other two charter members were my father Dave and my youngest brother Chris.  As the entire concept was totally new to us, there were many things missing from our league.  However, the one thing that was not missing was the fun in which we shared.  Our second season expanded to a four team league when my brother Brian came aboard.  Other friends and family members became interested during the second season as they also loved the idea of creating and running their own football franchise.  When the third season rolled around, we were asked by these same guys if they could become a part of our league.  From that season on our league has gained new members every season and I'm proud to say that it has become a very successful league.  Throughout the years we have started using team names, adjusted league rules to our liking and above all we've had a great time.  As league commissioner, I intend on keeping it this way for many years to come.  To your left, I've listed highlights of past seasons.  Unfortunately, I did not keep records in the past, so everything listed is from memory.  Enjoy!

PFFL League Commissioner

Historical Notes

  • Only three franchises have ever won multiple PFFL Championships (Da Bellends, T-Baggin' Dragons & Tim's Bald-Headed Turf Turtles).

  • Since 2001 the Outsiders lead all teams in "Top Weekly Scores" with 11.

  • The score of 120 points has only been reached 6 times.

  • The 100 point mark has been reached 46 times.

  • There has been only one tied game in the history of the PFFL (Bigg Dogs vs. T-Baggin' Dragons).

  • Bazball holds more Divisional Championships than any other PFFL team with 3.

  • The Pastie Gangstas won the 2002 PFFL Championship without winning the Championship within their own division.

  • Only two league champions have successfully defended their PFFL Title (T-Baggin' Dragons and Da Bellends-twice).
